Step 168 – Review ~ Entry for Step 167 - With Knowledge I am free in the world.

Greetings All –

REVIEW THE WEEK THAT HAS PASSED. Review each lesson as it was given and each practice that you experienced. Review the entire week so that you may fortify the learning that you are now undertaking. Remember that you are learning to learn. Remember that you are a beginning student of Knowledge. Remember that your evaluation, if it is not born of Knowledge, will not be helpful. Without this evaluation, it will be apparent how to strengthen your involvement, how to strengthen your preparation and how to make adjustments in your outer life to support you in your endeavor. This can be done without self-condemnation. It can be done because it is necessary, and you are able to respond to that which is necessary without punishing yourself or the world. This preparation is necessary, for it represents your will.

IN YOUR LONG PRACTICE PERIOD TODAY, review the week with sincerity and depth. Give this your full attention so that you may receive the gifts that you are now preparing to receive.

PRACTICE 168: One long practice period.

From the Journal:

6:22 A.M. Friday, December 31, 1999 – the edge is near. We shall move over this demarcation line – a relative point that allows humanity to reflect on its recent history. Great movement is taking place – even an interest in less habitat destruction. I withdraw and reflect. The eve will be spent with those at the Chapel.

What does your soul require? A focus in the work environment – on building regional relationships – relationships.

Step 167 “With Knowledge I am free in the world.”

- “As for me – I will serve Knowledge.”

6 p.m. Taking time for myself – Y2K is of little consequence at this moment. All celebrations in major capitals at the time zones passages are doing fine. Fear of Y2K has united the world on this day and people are showing they are better than technology.

People with a long term perspective are prone to fear/doom/negative scenarios. The prophecy is avoided by action. Every true prophet wants to be wrong.

I’m updating my to-do lists.

6:47 p.m. Great change lies ahead, building the relationships to navigate them. Instead of the rapids of change – it has become a tidal wave – a wave that never breaks, it only gains momentum – Alvin Toffler – wave king.

This is the famously expected New Year’s Eve at the end of 1999. We all made it through. To be free in the world, that is a great life vision. In 1987, I read Robert Theobald's "Rapids of Change: Social Entrepreneurship in Turbulent Times," for which a review link is provided. It was an influential book, raising concerns which, have yet to be solved. Also linked is the reference to Alvin Toffler, whose 1970 book Future Shock, got me interested in planning.
