|“The poor cannot give. I am not poor.” Step 159|
Step 159 - The poor cannot give. I am not poor. (MP3) Entry for Step 158 - I am rich so I can give.
Greetings All –
Step 159 - The poor cannot give. I am not poor. (MP3) [Open in Drive or copy to your Drive – Download folder or play from Drive – Step PDF also.]
THE POOR CANNOT GIVE, FOR THEY ARE DESTITUTE. They are required to receive. You are not destitute, for the gift of Knowledge is with you. Therefore, you are in a position to give, and in your giving you will realize your worth and any sense of destitution will leave you. Be confident that Knowledge will provide all material things that are truly needed by you. Though it may not provide what you wish, it will provide what you need and in the right amount. Thus, you will have what you need to contribute according to your nature and your calling in the world. But you will not be burdened with that which can only burden you. You will have exactly what you need, and the world will not burden you with its deprivation or its excesses. Thus, everything will have perfect balance. Knowledge will give to you what you need, and what you need is what you really want. You cannot yet assess your needs, for you are lost in what you want. But your needs will reveal themselves through Knowledge, and in time you will understand the nature of need and how it may be fulfilled.
YOU ARE NOT POOR, FOR THE GIFT OF KNOWLEDGE IS WITH YOU. Repeat today’s statement upon the hour and consider it in light of your observations of others. In your deeper practice periods, allow yourself to experience the wealth of Knowledge that you now possess.
PRACTICE 159: Two 30-minute practice periods. Hourly practice.
Note: “You are not destitute, for the gift of Knowledge is with you. Therefore, you are in a position to give, and in your giving you will realize your worth and any sense of destitution will leave you.”
Yesterday: Step 158 - I am rich so I can give.
From the journal:
Nothing on December 22, 1999. The Steps page has a note that 12/22/99 is the solstice. In the blue ink, 2nd year – the note is “Letter of Thanks to Marshall.” You may
develop that gratitude at some point. Often, in reading the books or Steps, I had the sense that something had been written specifically for me. That isn’t ego, but recognition that seeker souls have many questions. To find an answer to one, an explanation in the moment, is a great joy. When the time is right, the teaching will appear.
Journal second time x2 Step 158. This is for those who have completed Steps once. Doing Steps with only the texts, messages and your life experience, including what you may have studied and practiced is your journey. I’m showing Step comments after the Step, so as not to influence you in advance. It is a wilderness trek to be left to your own wits, but then you can also listen more closely for guides, angels and teachers, always first saying: “I surround and protect myself with the Love and the Grace of God.” Thankfully, I was taught this practice in 1989.
P.S. If you’ve some interest due to this or other Steps, you should go to the beginning blog post. From here you will learn about Steps to Knowledge and can begin it on the day that makes sense; then progress as needed. You can use the posts on this blog as a companion if it helps. They will remain in order in the archives - one post per Step.
Often it takes 18 months to get through the Steps once. For this blog, the pace is one-a-day, but it really makes no difference how fast you do it, only that you begin, persist and repeat. Posts here provide a trail that may let you have a virtual companion when and if you want one. One may have to study alone, as I did in the beginning. There are other Steps students blogging their experience and you might find a person more like you as a companion, or use a number of such Steps journeys. There are options as well through the Free School of the New Message.
