“I will not be concerned about myself today.” Step 156 |
SELF-CONCERN IS A FORM OF HABITUAL THINKING, born of
negative imagination and of errors that have not been corrected. This compounds
your sense of failure, thus influencing your lack of self-trust and
self-appreciation. Our lesson for today, then, is to fortify that which is
genuine within you. If you are with Knowledge, Knowledge will care for all
things that require your attention. Think not that anything will be left
unattended to that is for your own behalf. All needs of a greater spiritual
nature and of the most mundane nature as well will be met and understood by
you, for there is no neglect in Knowledge. You who are accustomed to neglect,
who have not used your mind properly in the past, who have not been able to see
or hear the world, can now be comforted, for you need not have concern for
yourself today.
FOR THIS YOU MUST EXTEND YOUR FAITH and your trust
that Knowledge will provide for you. This in time will allow you to receive the
gift of Knowledge which will dispel all doubt and confusion. You must prepare
for this experience. In this, you must extend your faith and trust. Be
confident this day. Recognize those things that require your attention, even if
they be of a mundane nature, and attend to them well, for Knowledge is not
seeking to take you out of the world but to bring you into the world, for you
have come here to give.
FORTIFY YOUR UNDERSTANDING OF TODAY’S IDEA by
repeating it upon the hour and giving it a moment of true consideration.
Fortify your practice today by utilizing it in your deeper practices where you enter
stillness and silence. You can only enter stillness and silence if you are
without concern for yourself. Thus, your commitment to give yourself to your
practice is an affirmation of the safety and the certainty that abide with you.
PRACTICE 156: Two 30-minute practice periods. Hourly
practice.
From
the journal:
9:30
a.m. Sunday, December 19, 1999. Much to do today. It is hard to tell if I’m
making progress on S2K. I’d like my life to be more stable so that I can
advance Regions Work. We don’t have the data to do that. …
Community
precedes cooperation.
…
→S2K today “The
world blesses me as I receive" – I now receive greatly from the rich creation
and have received such from birth. As I began to understand my wealth years
ago, the richness of this particular environment, I felt the grace of God. I
wasn’t w/o problems – and I’ve had richness there too in the past two years at
work – forever with David & Sarah – I still see/feel/sense with the S2K
expansion of ACIM – that I am blessed. I want to share this with others.
Amen & Amen

This was a strong step. In the Steps book I diagram
relationships, seeking to visualize the relationships presented.
You may have already done this, or can do so in the
future. There are many relationships to consider in our learning. The
notion of "Being
without question" comes from ACIM.

Journal second time x2 Step 155. This
is for those who have completed Steps once. Doing Steps with only the texts,
messages and your life experience, including what you may have studied and
practiced is your journey. I’m showing Step comments after the Step, so as not
to influence you in advance. It is a wilderness trek to be left to your own
wits, but then you can also listen more closely for guides, angels and
teachers, always first saying: “I surround and protect myself with the Love and
the Grace of God.” Thankfully, I was taught this practice in 1989.
P.S. If you’ve some interest due to this or other
Steps, you should go to the beginning blog post. From here you will learn about Steps to Knowledge
and can begin it on the day that makes sense; then progress as needed. You can
use the posts on this blog as a companion if it helps. They will remain in
order in the archives - one post per Step.
Often it takes 18 months to get through the Steps
once. For this blog, the pace is one-a-day, but it really makes no difference
how fast you do it, only that you begin, persist and repeat. Posts here provide
a trail that may let you have a virtual companion when and if you want one. One
may have to study alone, as I did in the beginning. There are other Steps
students blogging their experience and you might find a person more like you as
a companion, or use a number of such Steps journeys. There are options as well
through the Free School of the New Message.
