Step 231 - I have a calling in this world. (MP3) Entry for Step 230 - My suffering is born of confusion.

Greetings All –

Step 231 - I have a calling in this world. (MP3)  [Open in Drive or copy to your Drive – Download folder or play from Drive – Step PDF also.]

I have a calling in this world. Step 231

YOU HAVE A CALLING IN THIS WORLD. It is not what you think it is. It will emerge from your Knowledge once Knowledge is allowed to emerge within your mind. You have a calling in this world because you have come here to do some very specific things. Your purpose in this world is to reclaim your Knowledge and to allow your Knowledge to express itself. That is a very simple statement of your purpose, but it is a statement that contains a great deal of depth and a great deal that must be fulfilled in time.

YOU HAVE A CALLING IN THIS WORLD because you were sent here to do something. It is for this reason that your mind is the way it is and that you have a specific nature that is distinct from others. As your calling emerges, you will realize why you think and act the way you do, and all of this will be brought into true balance and harmony. This will erase all cause you have for self-condemnation, for your nature represents a usefulness that you have not yet realized. In other words, you are made specifically for something that you have not yet comprehended. Prior to this you will resist your nature, thinking it is a limitation upon you. In time, you will realize that it is an invaluable resource for accomplishment, for you have a calling in the world.

UPON THE HOUR REMIND YOURSELF OF THIS and remind yourself that you do not yet know what your calling is. Without presumptions, you will be in a position to discover the truth. In your deeper practice periods today enter stillness and silence once again, utilizing the word RAHN if you find that helpful. This is a day of preparation for you to realize your true calling in the world. It is a day given to Knowledge and a day that is taken away from false assumptions and self-deception. A day given to Knowledge brings you closer to realizing your calling, which will arise naturally without your presumptions once you and those with whom you must be engaged are prepared.

PRACTICE 231: Two 30-minute practice periods. Hourly practice.

This was busy Step for March 2, 2000. I chose to write out the response, which provided interesting reading in 2014 and again in 2015. In the page margin I wrote:

Later I concluded and wrote in the margin: “No other method gives a way of dealing with confusion other than Faith.” Permission to be confused and thoughtful at the same time; a different spiritual approach.

I cannot say that I am confusion-free after all the years of being a student, but I do have tools to handle it when it appears.

From the Journal:

6:32 a.m. Thursday, March 2, 2000 –

Confusion? What confusion? Sexual, food, work, religion, politics, culture, growth, change, death, love, design, usefulness, behavior, attack, right or right/wrong or wrong/right or wrong, relationships, incarnate/discarnate life, friend/foe, scale/local/regional/community, value, communication, order/freedom, feedback, today/tomorrow.

That there is confusion – or they what we experience in the manifest is confusing is a dawning consciousness.

No wonder so many are frantic. No wonder there are so many schemes, scenarios, philosophies, sciences, fictions, seeking to explain within the human mind that which it can't really contain.

We can experience the world "as if alone" – truly feel that – the more alone we feel – due to local conditions, abuse, attack, mental illness, the more self-destructive/violent an individual human may become.

We are born into and band into family/gangs/tribes/cultures/communities, state/nations – a few to (also) see the planet.

What is the greatest whole you can behold? All politics is local

Boundaries subdivide whole geographies – The greatest contiguous whole is earth, our local planet. (The whole truth 3/11/2000)

6:55 a.m. I've been writing and using my mind to deal with this step – 230 "My suffering is born of confusion." I read it this a.m. so I could get started on it early.

As I wrote this paragraph and had the insight I experienced a great sense of gratitude for these books, these steps – which spirit has delivered for my growth; for the continuum of learning I have followed – ACIM, Urantia, CWG, RUOW, the writings of Ken Carey, – J Krishnamurti – TV evangelists, early Christians – for within the surface confusion – the synchronicity of my path – the nurturing of many, many souls – who I am beginning to discover, are my spiritual family – and fellow practitioners for Knowledge.

So – my soul becomes a greater force for calmness in my mental and physical life by leading me to S2K and to this lesson – where – my life experience can understand.

– Futurist – just like everyone else trying to see over the next hill. – looking for trends – listening to others. In order to see, you must listen. Find the clear ones. Expert? – immediately. Planners should be, experts in "Process." You end up needing data about transactions of others.

11:45 p.m. Practice #2 were "My suffering is born of confusion." Some of it is mine, some of it is from others, some is a joint or even multi-party confusion. The day went well; ---

Seeing, feeling, knowing it is "confusion" is a liberating gift. There’s more to come. This may fade as an insight for there are likely others to come.

The Steps page follows. Even though I wrote out the response, I did not follow the Step exercise to the letter.

Let us continue. Only 135 Steps left in the year.

Journal second time x2 Step 230.  This is for those who have completed Steps once. Doing Steps with only the texts, messages and your life experience, including what you may have studied and practiced is your journey. I’m showing Step comments after the Step, so as not to influence you in advance. It is a wilderness trek to be left to your own wits, but then you can also listen more closely for guides, angels and teachers, always first saying: “I surround and protect myself with the Love and the Grace of God.” Thankfully, I was taught this practice in 1989.

P.S. If you’ve some interest due to this or other Steps, you should go to the beginning blog post. From here you will learn about Steps to Knowledge and can begin it on the day that makes sense; then progress as needed. You can use the posts on this blog as a companion if it helps. They will remain in order in the archives - one post per Step.

Often it takes 18 months to get through the Steps once. For this blog, the pace is one-a-day, but it really makes no difference how fast you do it, only that you begin, persist and repeat. Posts here provide a trail that may let you have a virtual companion when and if you want one. One may have to study alone, as I did in the beginning. There are other Steps students blogging their experience and you might find a person more like you as a companion, or use a number of such Steps journeys. There are options as well through the Free School of the New Message.
