This is a spiritual practice. It has been given to Humanity so it might be able to respond to the growing planetary necessity for Human Unity and Cooperation. We are encouraged to undertake Steps to Knowledge. This site is a simple aid to introduce people to this practice. There is much more to learn for anyone who becomes a student. As a Steps student since June 27, 1999, I am a witness for its benefit. Tom Christoffel
The errors of this world will not dissuade me. Step 255 - Steps to Knowledge: The Book of Inner Knowing ~ Spiritual Practices
Greetings All –

errors of this world will not dissuade me. Step 255
NOT LET CONFUSION DISSUADE YOU, for all error is born of confusion. Remember
that when individuals are without Knowledge, they can only commit error and
express their confusion. They can only practice confusion, and they can only serve
confusion. This, then, will teach you to value what is valuable and to
recognize what is meaningless. This will teach you that you are always in
service to that which you value; you are always fortifying that which you
value; you are always practicing that which you value.
YOU ARE LEARNING TO VALUE KNOWLEDGE. You are learning to practice Knowledge.
You are learning to recognize Knowledge. And you are learning to serve
Knowledge. This is the demonstration that you require. Do not let the confusion
of the world dissuade you, for it reminds you of your great need. How can the
errors of the world dissuade you when they should encourage you? Correctly
seen, they will only prompt you to give yourself more fully to your preparation
now. This preparation in which you are engaged holds the promise of activating
Knowledge in you. You need only follow its steps.
WILL NOT FIND REFUGE IN THE WORLD. You have already attempted this, and it has
failed you again and again, as it will fail you again and again if you pursue
it any further. It is you who must give to the world because it is you who have
RECEIVE KNOWLEDGE THIS DAY in your hourly practices and in your deeper practice
periods. Do not let the errors of the world dissuade you. Let the errors of the
world prompt you and inspire you towards Knowledge, for this is part of the
gift of the world to you. The other part of the gift of the world is to be the
arena where you allow Knowledge to contribute itself through you. Here the
world is blessed and you are blessed. Then, you will be grateful for the errors
of the world and for the accomplishments of the world, for one stimulates
Knowledge and the other fulfills Knowledge. Therefore, this day learn to think
correctly so that your mind may be a useful servant to Knowledge and so that
all aspects of yourself may be honored.

small section of the Berlin Wall is pictured here.
From 1961 to 1989 was the period of this event, as
shown on this plaque on the brick footprint of the wall as it ran through
Berlin. The wall itself was a product of a string of human errors that go back
to before World War I.
These errors created a necessity for peace, which
was eventually achieved for some time, but new errors are occurring. Is there
any way that we can contribute to avoiding or minimizing error? Steps is a path
to understanding where we can contribute, for that is why we are here.
If this is your first time seeing one of the “Steps to Knowledge”,
then welcome. There are 365 Steps, daily spiritual practices if one seeks to
complete them in a year, but that is not necessary. They can be used by people
of any religious tradition or no religious tradition. They will help one to
become mindful in the world.
The Step today is from the book: Steps to Knowledge: The Book of Inner Knowing. The practices were
brought to the world through Marshall Vian Summers, The Messenger for The New
Message From God. Important background for the Steps is in: “Greater Community Spirituality” and the “Wisdom Books - I and II”.
Hard copies are available from the New Knowledge Library Store. The
Society for the New Message from God also has a Free Book Project. If you need
the books now, PDF files can be found here: http://goo.gl/RJuuGP
Keeping a journal is recommended. If you have a Steps book,
write your reactions and comments, highlight or underline points that strike
you, and date the note. In this way, your Steps book can be a partial journal.
Using the PDF, you can print out pages as you need them, or use
the software to maintain a digital copy where you can enter notes and highlight
text that stands out.
Other modern methods of keeping a journal include having a
document on your PC or phone to keep notes. You could send yourself an email or
use the voice recorder function. It is important to capture insights and
reactions because it is by this means that you can understand change. Sometimes
it may just be a word or short phrase, an image or a scene.
To end this post I again offer the blessing: "May the
presence of the Teachers be with you." In the invocative language of
Knowledge this blessing is: "Nasi Novare Coram" (pronounced NAH-see
The short form of Nasi Novare Coram used by students is NNC.
P.S. Often it takes 18 months to get through the Steps once. For
this blog, the pace is one-a-day, but it really makes no difference how fast
you do it, only that you begin, persist and repeat. Posts linked below provide
a trail that may let you have a virtual companion when and if you want one. One
may have to study alone, as I did in the beginning. There are other Steps
students blogging their experience and you might find a person more like you as
a companion, or use a number of such Steps journeys.
Doing Steps with only the texts, messages and your life
experience, including what you may have studied and practiced is your journey.
I’m showing Step comments after the Step, so as not to influence anyone in
advance. It is a wilderness trek to be left to your own wits, but then you can
also listen more closely for guides, angels and teachers, always first saying:
“I surround and protect myself with the Love and the Grace of God.” Thankfully,
I was taught this practice in 1989.
