“I will not define my purpose for myself.” Step 134 |
YOU DO NOT NEED TO DEFINE YOUR PURPOSE when
in time your purpose will merely arise and be known by you. Do not live by
definitions. Live by experience and understanding. You do not need to define
your purpose, and if you attempt to do so, always remember that it is only a
temporary expedient. Do not give it great credibility. In this way, the world
cannot anger you, for what can the world do to you but undermine your
definition of yourself? If you are not living upon your definitions, the world
cannot harm you, for it cannot touch the place of Knowledge that is within you.
Only Knowledge can touch Knowledge. Only Knowledge in another can touch
Knowledge within you. Only Knowledge within you can touch Knowledge in another.
THEREFORE,
DO NOT DEFINE YOUR PURPOSE TODAY. Be without definitions so that the experience
of purpose may grow. And as it grows, it will give you the content of your
purpose, without distortion or deception. You will not need to defend this in
the world, but only carry it like a jewel in your heart.
UPON
THE HOUR REMIND YOURSELF not to define your purpose, and begin to think of the
cost of doing so in terms of your own past experience. In your two meditation
practices, allow yourself to be still. Upon each exhale, speak the word RAHN.
RAHN. RAHN. You only need speak the word RAHN upon the exhale in your meditation.
Let this be your total focus. This word will serve to stimulate Ancient
Knowledge within you and give you the strength that you most need at this time.
PRACTICE
134: Two 30-minute practice periods. Hourly practice.
Rahn is the first word of the invocative language
that is part of Steps and the New Message. It is said on the exhale. It says to
speak, though I’ve most often done it speaking silently. Say it out loud if you
have the privacy to do so. It has a different feel than Om or other
mantras.

133 - Review
From
the journal:
The entries for reviews to this point have not
included too much about the review. What I did in later times, as I did today,
was to list the Steps of the review period in my journal, then read them, then
read the day’s notes. Write as much or as little as you wish. It does take time
for the Steps to come together and take one deeper.
From the Journal:
1:15
a.m. Saturday, Nov 27, 1999 - …
The
movie Dogma – an earth
centric god and modern demise. [According to this Wikipedia entry, this film is a
comedy. I didn’t view it as a comedy when I saw it in 1999, though parts were
funny.]
10:10
a.m. The governance/self governance of souls.
10:35
a.m. The regional server – the physical city as the central server of the city
state. Now, with technology , you can get the critical people/skills in a
lower/dispersed population? There are no backwater spaces if you are connected.
Knowledge
is a network to teach; a network of servers. –

p.m. @ Little Bear for the review. Reading GCW-I has been helpful in seeing the (a) greater
picture. I’m revitalized with the PDC mission since I see that I’m trying to
facilitate growth of a sense of community. I shall serve until I’m no longer
needed to serve.

Adjusting as we go. Let
us continue.

Journal second time x2
Step 133. This is for those who have completed Steps
once. Doing Steps with only the texts, messages and your life experience,
including what you may have studied and practiced is your journey. I’m showing
Step comments after the Step, so as not to influence you in advance. It is a
wilderness trek to be left to your own wits, but then you can also listen more
closely for guides, angels and teachers, always first saying: “I surround and
protect myself with the Love and the Grace of God.” Thankfully, I was taught
this practice in 1989.
P.S. If you’ve some interest due to this or other
Steps, you should go to the beginning blog post. From here you will learn about Steps to Knowledge
and can begin it on the day that makes sense; then progress as needed. You can
use the posts on this blog as a companion if it helps. They will remain in
order in the archives - one post per Step.
Often it takes 18 months to get through the Steps
once. For this blog, the pace is one-a-day, but it really makes no difference
how fast you do it, only that you begin, persist and repeat. Posts here provide
a trail that may let you have a virtual companion when and if you want one. One
may have to study alone, as I did in the beginning. There are other Steps
students blogging their experience and you might find a person more like you as
a companion, or use a number of such Steps journeys. There are options as well
through the Free School of the New Message.
