Step 205 - I will not judge the world today. Entry for Step 204 - I will be at peace today.

Greetings All –

DO NOT LET YOUR MIND DEPRECATE ITSELF by projecting blame upon the world. With blame the world becomes misunderstood, and your mind becomes a burden rather than an asset to you. Today’s idea requires practice, discipline and application, for your mind and all minds within the world have been misunderstood, misused and misdirected. Thus, you are now learning to utilize the mind positively by giving it a true function in service to Knowledge.

DO NOT BLAME THE WORLD TODAY. Do not judge the world today. Allow your mind to be still as you look upon it. Knowledge about the world arises gradually. It arises naturally. An idea may speak of it, but an idea cannot contain it. Knowledge represents an overall shift in your viewpoint, an overall change in your experience, an overall shift in your emphasis and an overall transformation of your value system. This is the evidence of Knowledge.

DO NOT BLAME THE WORLD TODAY. It is blameless, for it is merely demonstrating that Knowledge is not being adhered to. What else can it do but commit error and folly? What else can it do but waste its great resources? Humanity can only be in error without Knowledge. It can only create fantasy. It can only engage in loss. Therefore, it does not deserve condemnation. It deserves the application of Knowledge.

PRACTICE UPON THE HOUR NOT BLAMING THE WORLD. Do not let hours pass without your involvement. Give this day to serve the world in this way, for without your condemnation your love for the world will naturally arise and be expressed. In your two deeper practice periods, allow your mind to enter stillness. Without blame and judgment, stillness becomes accessible because it is natural. Without the imposition of your condemnation, your mind is allowed to be still. In stillness there is no blame or judgment. In stillness love will flow from you in all directions and will continue far beyond what you can perceive through your senses.

PRACTICE 205: Two 30-minute practice periods. Hourly practice.

This is an enjoyable Step. It is needed and turns out to be life affirming. The entry covers this topic, with the earlier Steps influencing my thinking. The first Allies of Humanity books was published in 2000 as an “underground edition,” a booklet bound like an office report. Eventually there were three volumes. As of this point, I did not have a copy. Reading the Allies material is helpful, if you can squeeze it in, though you may be a student who learned of the Steps through those materials.

From the Journal:

Step 204 – "I will be at peace today." I was going to skip the lesson today, but I need it. At 8:30 AM went to Lord Fairfax  Community College for the Civil War battlefield project report – show Callahan's CAIT [Community Applied Information Technology] team. Work on heritage tourism began in 1992 – it is now leading to an implementation plan.

We are always @100% where we are. How could things move faster? How can we influence through vision? I can see how my presence has shifted, connected, moved things – and were I not here – could that have happened? I feel very fortunate to have this perspective, but vulnerable – subject to being swept away.

Looking at my four pillars – work is most unbalanced. I can only work myself out – but energy lags, I have more to learn –

Like ACIM, S2K is focused on doing a "small part." I cannot make sense of it all. I do not know – and this may be beyond the unknowable mystery.

Watching writers talking on C-SPAN BookTV about their lives – Anchee Min, a Chinese woman who grew up under Uncle Mao as a young Red Guard – and the bleak life led in the name of the revolution – being told in America – two thirds of the people lived worse. When growing up surrounded by poverty – that is all you know. Humanity slung against existence to break it down.

I might do or be something different. I need to simplify – travel lighter – get rid of baggage.

I have the will to contribute and this is my strength. I can see the results of my work – though it is invisible to most. I almost reserved my.com today. It will be "regions work" or "one planet regions" or "local planet regions" – regions are sub local –> goal – to make visible regional structure so that locals may make use of them

7:55 PM practice #2 – I spent 3 hours at the office setting up project category codes in Outlook so I can do has assignments. I tried this earlier but did not follow through. Like Tom Peters – it must be all projects – at a minimum how get my management system structure even if the people I want to use it with our unmanageable.
11:30 PM To bed. If I look to the future – from what I see here – in this house, from this vantage point – I don't see much. If I take into account what I've read/seen on the net/on TV, in films/and in my limited travels… I get a different sense. If I take into account what I feel in the woods, then there's nowhere to go. I picture myself, as a long-lived fish in the depths of a Pacific trench. Breathing very slowly – existing – like peace today –

– Local Planet Regions – local and regional lifestyle. With TV – visual media, the world comes to you in greater detail than in books/writing as was done in the past. We also have the solar system/galactic view where earth is a local planet in a regional system. What scale do you operate on?

> Market regional data to the business community – back to that model –

On the Steps page, I copied in list form, statements in the text “Respect for.” I do this often as a memory and learning technique.

For today’s Step, we remain peaceful and do not judge.

P.S. At Step 205, we are into Part Two of Steps, so if you’ve found this and find some appeal in this or other Steps, you should really go to the beginning blog post. From here you learn about Steps to Knowledge and can begin it on the day that makes sense and then progress as needed. You can use the posts on this blog as a companion if it helps. They will remain in order in the archives - one per Step.

Often it takes 18 months to get through the Steps once. For this blog, the pace is one-a-day, but it really makes no difference how fast you do it, only that you begin, persist and repeat. Posts here provide a trail that may let you have a virtual companion when and if you want one. One may have to study alone, as I did in the beginning. There are other Steps students blogging their experience and you might find a person more like you as a companion, or use a number of such Steps journeys. There are options as well through the Free School of the New Message
