This is a spiritual practice. It has been given to Humanity so it might be able to respond to the growing planetary necessity for Human Unity and Cooperation. We are encouraged to undertake Steps to Knowledge. This site is a simple aid to introduce people to this practice. There is much more to learn for anyone who becomes a student. As a Steps student since June 27, 1999, I am a witness for its benefit. Tom Christoffel
Step 79 - I will allow uncertainty to exist today. (MP3) Entry for Step 78 - I can do nothing alone.
Greetings All –
Step 79 - I will allow
uncertainty to exist today. (MP3)[Open in Drive or copy to your Drive – Download
folder or play from Drive – Step PDF also.]
"I will allow uncertainty to exist today." Step 79
I WILL ALLOW UNCERTAINTY TO
EXIST TODAY. ALLOWING UNCERTAINTY TO EXIST means there is great faith. This
means that another form of certainty is arising. When you allow uncertainty to
exist, it means that you are becoming honest, for in truth you are uncertain.
In allowing uncertainty to exist, you are becoming patient, for it requires
patience to regain your certainty. In allowing uncertainty to exist, you are
becoming tolerant. You are stepping back from judgment and becoming a witness
of life within you and of life around you. Accept uncertainty today so that you
may learn. Without presumption, you will seek Knowledge. Without judgment, you
will realize your own true need.
UPON EACH HOUR TODAY, repeat
today’s statement and examine what it means. Examine this from your own
feelings and examine this in light of what you see in the world around you.
Uncertainty exists until you are certain. If you allow this to exist, you can
allow God to serve you.
PRACTICE 79: Hourly Practice.
Hedge your bets in a risky
world. Try to minimize uncertainty, that's what the markets were supposed to be
doing. What happens if one allows uncertainty to exist?
I Have such a good life, so
much potential for success - working with others.
10:12 A.M. At the office - I
can do nothing by myself.
Yet I'm the prime do-er. I'd
like to complete the work here, but there seems to be too much to overcome.
12:52 p.m. - May 29, 1997 - the
period of high optimism - Regional Strategic Plan - it crashed - there was no
buy-in to the vision - the folks are much harder to get on board. -
3:30 p.m. Stop the world -

contact with Teachers -
Work - the office - all the
limits of life on earth in its depressed mode. There is some light now speeding
up things. Some where there must be people who learn.
Alone I can do nothing. I am
... a growing tree in the
forest of humanity - 7:10 p.m.
12:21 A.M. Monday, October 4,
I worked until 10:30-45 came
home - had wine, ate food, paid bills.
I can do nothing by myself, yet
I'm alone most of the time.
At this time, I was not a happy camper. Yes, you can put your
unhappiness and other ugliness in your journal.
By the notes in my Steps book, key points were underlined in 1999,
that's the green, but doing Steps again in 2009, I note that I did not understand
the Step when I first read it 10/3/99. Deep long term study will be of benefit.
Be patient and do the work; that is what I had to do
2nd Time Step 78.This is for those who have completed
Steps once. Doing Steps with only the texts, messages and your life experience,
including what you may have studied and practiced is your journey. I’m showing
my first year Step comments after the Step, so as not to influence you in
advance. It is a wilderness trek to be left to your own wits, but then you can
also listen more closely for guides, angels and teachers, always first saying:
“I surround and protect myself with the Love and the Grace of God.” Thankfully,
I was taught this practice in 1989.
P.S. If you’ve some interest due to this or other
Steps, you should go to the beginning blog post. From here you will learn about Steps to Knowledge
and can begin it on the day that makes sense; then progress as needed. You can
use the posts on this blog as a companion if it helps. They will remain in
order in the archives - one post per Step.
Often it takes 18 months to get through the Steps
once. For this blog, the pace is one-a-day, but it really makes no difference
how fast you do it, only that you begin, persist and repeat. Posts here provide
a trail that may let you have a virtual companion when and if you want one. One
may have to study alone, as I did in the beginning. There are other Steps
students blogging their experience and you might find a person more like you as
a companion, or use a number of such Steps journeys. There are options as well
through the Free School of the New Message.
