Step 84 - Review - Your steps now are small, but substantive. (MP3) Entry for Step 83 - I value Knowledge beyond all things.

Greetings All –

Step 84 - Review (MP3)  [Open in Drive or copy to your Drive – Download folder or play from Drive – Step PDF also.]

REVIEW THE PRACTICES AND THE INSTRUCTIONS for the preceding week. Review your progress objectively. Realize how great your learning must be. Your steps now are small, but substantive. Small steps lead you all the way. You are not expected to take great leaps, yet each small step will seem like a great leap, for it will give you so much more than you have ever had before. Allow your external life to become rearranged as your inner life begins to emerge and to shine its light upon you. Maintain your focus and accept change in your outer life, for it is for your benefit. Only if Knowledge is violated will the indication of error be evident to you. This will lead you to effective action. If Knowledge is not offended by the change around you, then you need not be. In time, you will achieve the peace of Knowledge. You will share in its peace, its certainty and its true gifts.

THEREFORE, CONDUCT YOUR REVIEW in one long practice period today. Review with great emphasis and discrimination. Do not allow yourself to miss the recognition of your learning process.
PRACTICE 84: One long practice period.

Many useful thoughts offered in this Step as we go to Review. The image is of an index card. The second year through Steps I used index cards – 3 inch by 5 inch to write out all the Steps, so I could review them. I didn’t have a smartphone to instantly display the Step. I could easily keep it in my shirt pocket for hourly reviews. It is old technology, but may serve the need of some students.

From the Journal:

10:24 p.m. Friday, October 8 - S2K 83
I value Knowledge (Holy Spirit) beyond all things.

This is a significant day - because faith in God/Holy Spirit has created good - proving fear wrong/unnecessary/not to be believed.

The day at the office was good. ...

Went to the movie "The Sixth Sense." It was an amazing story. The boy actor's character Cole was a psychic boy who saw ghosts. Bruce Willis - the psychologist - we learn at the end - was dead. What a twist?

All of this day has rewarded my faith, so I go on in the plan.

This was a good day, fourteen years ago. For me, based on my reading of the Wisdom books, Holy Spirit is Knowledge. That I wrote on the page in 1999:

Here are the two references I had at the time I was doing Steps in 1999:

Chapter 20- Inner Listening

God has given you a perfect guidance system within yourself, which we call Knowledge. You may also call it the Holy Spirit, if you wish. It is an inner guidance system. In a very pervasive way, it is exerting its influence on you continuously, and on rare occasions it will actually move you to do something and motivate you in a very strong way. The power of your Knowledge is tremendous, and it is safely hidden within you in such a way that you cannot meddle with it. It is more powerful than you are, but it is actually who you are. If you did not have a personality, if you did not have a body and if your mind were completely unified, you would be communication itself, which is actually what you are. But in this life you are like a communication that is tightly wrapped and sealed inside a thick shell.

Chapter 26 – Who is Jesus?

Jesus set into motion a direct relationship with the Divine through the intermediary of the Holy Spirit, which in Greater Community understanding would be defined as Knowledge itself. This relationship emphasized the Divine reality within each person and the possibility for personal revelation and spiritual development. Humanity has been struggling with this ever since, yet it is a remarkable achievement that Christianity is present in the world and that it is accepted by millions of people in different countries, from different cultures and backgrounds. This is a religion for international civilization, as is true of many of the other religious movements that were initiated in the world and that have advanced into a more modern age.

There is much to learn. Fortunately we are beginners; open to learning. There is much to think about and to rethink, depending upon out past studies. Let us continue.

Journal 2nd Time Step 83.  This is for those who have completed Steps once. Doing Steps with only the texts, messages and your life experience, including what you may have studied and practiced is your journey. I’m showing my first year Step comments after the Step, so as not to influence you in advance. It is a wilderness trek to be left to your own wits, but then you can also listen more closely for guides, angels and teachers, always first saying: “I surround and protect myself with the Love and the Grace of God.” Thankfully, I was taught this practice in 1989.

P.S. If you’ve some interest due to this or other Steps, you should go to the beginning blog post. From here you will learn about Steps to Knowledge and can begin it on the day that makes sense; then progress as needed. You can use the posts on this blog as a companion if it helps. They will remain in order in the archives - one post per Step.

Often it takes 18 months to get through the Steps once. For this blog, the pace is one-a-day, but it really makes no difference how fast you do it, only that you begin, persist and repeat. Posts here provide a trail that may let you have a virtual companion when and if you want one. One may have to study alone, as I did in the beginning. There are other Steps students blogging their experience and you might find a person more like you as a companion, or use a number of such Steps journeys. There are options as well through the Free School of the New Message.
