Step 20 - I will not let doubt and confusion slow my progress. (MP3) Entry for Step 19 - Today I wish to see.

Greetings All –

Step 20 - I will not let doubt and confusion slow my progress. (MP3)  [Open in Drive or copy to your Drive – Download folder or play from Drive – Step PDF also.]

Step 20 - I will not let doubt and confusion slow my progress.

WHAT CAN SLOW YOUR PROGRESS but your own indecision, and what can breed indecision save that which produces confusion of mind? You have a greater goal which is being illustrated in this program of preparation. Do not let doubt and confusion be an obstruction to you. To be a true student means that you are assuming very little and that you are directing yourself in a manner that you do not prescribe for yourself but which is given to you from a Greater Power. The Greater Power wishes to raise you to its own level of ability. In this way, you receive the gift of preparation so that you may give it to others. In this way, you are given that which you cannot provide for yourself. You realize your individual power and ability because they must be developed in order for you to follow a program of this nature. You also realize your inclusion in life as life strives to serve you in your true development.

THEREFORE, PRACTICE THE SAME PRACTICE that you attempted in the previous day in your two practice periods, and do not let doubt or confusion dissuade you. Be a true student today. Allow yourself to concentrate on your practice. Give yourself to practice. Be a true student today.

PRACTICE 20: Two 15-minute practice periods.

The first time I did this exercise, August 4, 1999, I looked at a wooden basket. Today I picked a spoon. Other than to do the exercise, not much to write. Though my mind was to be still, it did describe the features and think of the uses and perhaps history of the spoon as a human artifact.

From the Journal:

8:07 A.M. Remain calm, still, do m small part. The actions are simple. The relationships are complex. The pattern is simple, once in place. Before the pattern, a need to move to a higher order.

Journal 2nd Time Step 19.  This is for those who have completed Steps once. Doing Steps with only the texts, messages and your life experience, including what you may have studied and practiced is your journey. I’m showing my first year Step comments after the Step, so as not to influence you in advance. It is a wilderness trek to be left to your own wits, but then you can also listen more closely for guides, angels and teachers, always first saying: “I surround and protect myself with the Love and the Grace of God.” Thankfully, I was taught this practice in 1989.

P.S. If you’ve some interest due to this or other Steps, you should go to the beginning blog post. From here you will learn about Steps to Knowledge and can begin it on the day that makes sense; then progress as needed. You can use the posts on this blog as a companion if it helps. They will remain in order in the archives - one post per Step.

Often it takes 18 months to get through the Steps once. For this blog, the pace is one-a-day, but it really makes no difference how fast you do it, only that you begin, persist and repeat. Posts here provide a trail that may let you have a virtual companion when and if you want one. One may have to study alone, as I did in the beginning. There are other Steps students blogging their experience and you might find a person more like you as a companion, or use a number of such Steps journeys. There are options as well through the Free School of the New Message.
