My life is a mystery to explore. Step 36 |
IN YOUR TWO PRACTICE PERIODS
TODAY, again concentrate in meditation upon feeling the presence of your
Spiritual Teachers. This is not something you have to try to do. It simply
means relaxing, breathing and allowing your mind to open. The quality of your
relationship with your Teachers is essential to give you strength and
encouragement, for you may justly doubt your own skills, but you have good
cause to fully trust the skills of your Teachers who have passed this way
before on their way to Knowledge. They know the way, which they are seeking now
to share with you.
PRACTICE 36: Two 15-minute
practice periods.
The whole text above could be repeated here for emphasis.
This is Step 36 of 365 Steps, everyone of which is important. This Step is
important.

6:30 p.m. Step 35 S2K - the two 30 minute review
sessions done together.
6:48 p.m. What can I say about the Steps in the
past week? They were hard to follow. In the past two days - although stilled -
ten minutes was all I could do of a 15 minute meditation. It seemed I'd
processed for an hour.
> That I'm a
spirit in a body is the view reflected by the Step 25 comment "the less
you attempt to use your life, the more you will be able to understand it,
appreciate it and work with its intrinsic mechanism for your greater
advancement."
So, not much of a feeling
of accomplishment in that review so long ago. I did stick with the program and
have benefited over the years so much so that I 'm doing this blog to encourage
others through the Steps. This is a witness to encourage you to keep with it,
because there is a benefit. Be patient...that is what I recommend to all
students I meet.

2nd Time Step 35. This is for those who have completed
Steps once. Doing Steps with only the texts, messages and your life experience,
including what you may have studied and practiced is your journey. I’m showing
my first year Step comments after the Step, so as not to influence you in
advance. It is a wilderness trek to be left to your own wits, but then you can
also listen more closely for guides, angels and teachers, always first saying:
“I surround and protect myself with the Love and the Grace of God.” Thankfully,
I was taught this practice in 1989.
P.S. If you’ve some interest due to this or other
Steps, you should go to the beginning blog post. From here you will learn about Steps to Knowledge
and can begin it on the day that makes sense; then progress as needed. You can
use the posts on this blog as a companion if it helps. They will remain in
order in the archives - one post per Step.
Often it takes 18 months to get through the Steps
once. For this blog, the pace is one-a-day, but it really makes no difference
how fast you do it, only that you begin, persist and repeat. Posts here provide
a trail that may let you have a virtual companion when and if you want one. One
may have to study alone, as I did in the beginning. There are other Steps
students blogging their experience and you might find a person more like you as
a companion, or use a number of such Steps journeys. There are options as well
through the Free School of the New Message.
